It’s time for rehab construction to begin. Fairbrae will be closed to all members starting on Wednesday, September 16th. You may also see workers clearing tables and chairs on Tuesday, September 15th.
Securing all the required permits was a complex journey, but RDL (our general contractor) had been tracking the progress so they were ready to take action as soon as possible. We want to get ahead of the rainy season and avoid holiday delays as much as possible. The project is projected to take 12-16 weeks.
We are following RDL’s lead regarding club closures and member safety. The initial phase will be demolition and will be loud and dusty. When it is safe to re-open the tennis courts, RDL will let us know and we will coordinate West side access when possible (locker rooms will not be accessible).
We will share periodic updates through member messages, but members are encouraged to check the Fairbrae website to keep up with news and closure status, and check the rehab blog for construction progress reports. We’ll plan to update the blog at least every 2 weeks.
It’s been years of working and planning this project, so it almost doesn’t seem real. Many of us will miss coming to the club over the next few months, but it will be great to come back to a safe, ADA compliant, sustainable club when the work is done.
